A Little Company in Jackson Hole

My brother Jeff and my parents came up to Jackson Hole to hang out with me.

Each day after I would attend my classes we would go out and explore.

One night we went out to the Bar J Wrangler's Chuckwagon Dinner and show. You can see by the look on my dad's face that he was not looking forward to the audience participation.
These guys were pretty funny and very talented musicians.

Me and the folks at a beautiful waterfall.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!
The birds in the picnic area were certainly not shy.

Don't feed the animals!

Lower Yellowstone Falls

Dragon's Caldron

The boyz!

Not trip to Jellystone would be complete without a few buffalo.
One morning Jeff and I went mountain biking.

We rode up to some bike trails they had created down the mountain.

Normally you pay $40 for a lift pass and spend the day riding down the mountain but the lift was closed for the season.  It was tuff climbing up but the downhill was super fun.

Despite the temperature of 38 degrees when we started we had a good old time.

You can see the haze created by the wildfires nearby.

Another Day in Paradise

The pictures speak for themselves.

This water is crystal clear. My sister and I have pictures of us wading in this lake in our underwear about 30 years ago.

Cami and I jumped off the ledge you can see about two thirds of the way up the cliff on the right, back when we were young and foolish (maybe 4 years ago)

The Mountains of the Lord

I left San Antonio this morning to spend a week at an anesthesia conference in Jackson Hole, WY.  This has got to be one of my most favorite places on the planet.  I had to leave this morning at 4 and did not arrive in Jackson until after 1 so there was no opportunity to attend any Sunday meetings.  I got in my rental car and drove to Grand Teton National Park about 15 minutes up the road.  There is a fire in a neighboring town and so the air has been filled with smoke so I was unable to see the mountains well until I was pretty close.

You can see the smoke in the air in this photo.

The leaves were changing and the colors where vibrant.

I took a walk down one of the many trails to enjoy nature and the scenery.

The landscapes are absolutely awe inspiring.

I came across a family of deer out for a leisurely Sunday afternoon stroll.

Perfect!

I sat down on a rock at the side of the trail and just started to ponder upon life and God and His long-suffering patience with His imperfect children.  My attention was drawn to this little tree.  Beautiful and full and green it is the picture of life and vitality.  As you look at it you cannot help but look up as its shape moves your eyes upward to the heavens.  All of God's creations are a reflection of Him including us as imperfect as we are.  We are created after the image of God and it is He that made the mountains. It is important to remember that we are spirit beings having a mortal experience.  Love life enjoy this time and remember to look up to Heaven.
